About

Why?

MARTA was formed to keep retired educators in touch with one another and their profession. It started solely as a social group, but has expanded in scope to include many related stimulating opportunities such as daily trips, hands-on activities, discussions of issues, and providing scholarships. With a membership of over 600 persons, MARTA has come to be a staunch group for disseminating information pertinent to its members and its communities

 Who?

Our membership includes educators who worked and/or now live in the following New York State school districts: Chester, Florida, Goshen, Greenwood Lake, Middletown, Minisink Valley, Monroe-Woodbury, Orange County BOCES, Orange County Community College, Pine Bush, Port Jervis, Tuxedo, Valley Central, Warwick Valley, and Washingtonville. Membership is open to any educator in Orange County regardless of from which district the educator has retired.
