Community Service

MARTA is announcing ways you may become involved in
Community Service in the coming year.

Please consider a few hours that you can contribute to a cause of your choice.

NATURE RELATED OPPORTUNITIES
The Minnewaska State Park Preserve has a trail stewardship program and is looking for interested volunteers. Retired teachers who are passionate about the outdoors would make great trail stewards due to their life long experiences as educators.
The program was created to help protect ecologically sensitive species at Gertrude's Nose (a popular hike here at the park) by educating visitors on trail stewardship. The volunteers would be required to attend an orientation where they will learn how to inform hikers about proper trail etiquette.
